Biography

Dr Ivan Todorov was born in Belgrade on 7 October 1967.

He is married and the father of four children.

Education and Professional Training

1992 — Obtained the title of Judo Coach at the Vojvodina Institute of Physical Culture in Novi Sad

1992 — Obtained the title of First-Class Judo Coach at the Vojvodina Institute of Physical Culture in Novi Sad

1996 — Graduated from the Faculty of Physical Culture in Belgrade

2010 — Completed master’s studies at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Niš

2014 — Defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Niš, entitled “Effects of Specific Training on the Cardiorespiratory Endurance and Contractile Potential of Judokas’ Muscles”, thereby obtaining the academic title of Doctor of Physical Education

1998–2008 — Lecturer at the Sports Academy in Belgrade in the subject “Theory and Methodology of Martial Arts”

Since 2016 — Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Sport, Union – Nikola Tesla University in Belgrade

Since 2016 — Assistant Professor at the National Security Academy of the Republic of Serbia

He is the author of numerous scientific papers in the field of sport.

Engagement in Sport

1974–1995 — Multiple champion of the SFRY in judo in all age categories and multiple Balkan champion. Winner of Mediterranean and European medals in 1988. Participant in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. As a member of the clubs for which he competed, he was seven-time national champion of the SFRY and FRY, five-time winner of the SFRY Cup, and achieved fifth place in the European Cup of Champion Clubs. He holds a 7th Dan black belt.

1994–1999 — Coach of the men’s senior national judo team

1997–2001 — Member of the Board of Directors of the Judo Federation of Serbia

1998–2008 — Lecturer at the Sports Academy in Belgrade

2000–2014 — Secretary General of the Red Star Sports Association

2001–2012 — President of the Board of Directors of the Judo Federation of Serbia

Since 2012 — President of the Assembly of the Judo Federation of Serbia

2012–2016 — President of the Balkan Judo Federation
